With the Marvel's Daredevil Season 2, Netflix materialised Elektra and The Punisher from the world of comics. Now, ever since the miniseries, The Defenders has been announced, fans could not help but winder if they get to see Elektra (played by Elodie Yung) and The Punisher (played by Jon Bernthal) in the Season one of The Defenders.

Marvel reported that, Marvel's Daredevil or simply Daredevil Season two show-runners Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez will serve as the showrunner for The Defenders as well and the executive producer of Daredevil, Drew Goddard will also join their team.

"This is the big one. Four amazing casts, four amazing series, now all in one amazing story. We are thrilled at the opportunity to deliver the show that both we and the fans have been waiting for."

Ramirez and Petrie are the minds behind bringing Elektra and The Punisher to Daredevil, so there are chances that these two will reprise their role in The Defenders as well.

In an interview with Complex, Bernthal revealed that he is always open to reprise his role of The Punisher in any Marvel Cinematic Universe. Talking about the complexity of his character, 39-year-old Bernthal stated that Frank Castle aka The Punisher is in his blood.

"If they want to go forward in any way, for me it's just really going to be about making sure we do it in a way that's raw and intense. I want to push the envelope. I wanna alienate more of the audience and try to bring them back," Bernthal added.

At the recent two-day event in Paris held by Netflix, 33-year-old Charlie Cox, who plays the role of Daredevil, talked about his excitement for The Defenders. Cox stated that he is really interested to see how "those shows become one."

Netflix's upcoming miniseries, The Defenders, will star Cox as Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage and Finn Jones as Iron Fist. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

The Defenders Season 1 has not any release date but if you are getting anxious to see more superhero from the Marvel Universe on Netflix, then do not forget to watch the premiere episode of first season of Luke Cage on Sept. 30.
