With the second season now on DVD and Blu-Ray, Syfy has plans underway for the upcoming Season 3 of Z Nation. With the zombie apocalypse spreading everywhere, will survivors Citizen Z (DJ Qualls) and Warren (Kellita Smith) end up losing Murphy (Keith Allan)?

As we previously mentioned, three years have passed since a zombie virus has devastated the rest of the United States. A group of strangers have discovered an infected survivor, who is somehow immune to the zombie disease. With his body full of antibodies, the group has to travel from New York to California, where the only functioning lab is waiting for him.

According to TV Line, the casting call for the role of Murphy (Allan)'s role has been made. The producers of the Syfy horror are looking into auditions before the third season premiere. Currently, there is a contract dispute between Murphy and Z Nation producer, The Asylum. Because this recasting is unnecessary, both parties hope to resolve this issue before production resumes on May 1.

On her official Twitter account, Smith shared a recent snapshot of herself and Allan and tweets, "@KeithAllanDuh and I talking at Salt Lake City ComicCon #teamwarren @theasylumcc #ComicCon"

A representative from The Asylum and from Allan's personal managers have not responded to a request for comment.

In an interview with TV Insider, Z Nation creator Karl Schaefe teased what's to come in the the upcoming third season, which Murphy is integral in the story arc, "Our Big Bad character for Season 3 is basically the bounty hunter of all bounty hunters. He is working for Zona and has come back for Murphy, but not finding Murphy, he decides to go after his baby, Lucy."

The second season of Z Nation is now out in stores on DVD and Blu-Ray. No word yet on the third season premiere.
