Prince's Ex-Wife, Mayte Garcia, “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” Talks Marriage & Death

The music industry has lost a gem this week. The phenomenon singer Prince passed away at Paisley Park Estate in Chanhassen. After the death of the 57-year-old Prince, one of his ex-wives, Mayte Garcia talked about their marriage and the song, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, which the singer wrote for her.

While talking with The Mirror, Garcia spoke about her bizarre marriage with Prince. The late singer has written songs dedicated to her. Garcia further stated that when she first met him, she was a virgin and had never been with anybody else. Prince was mesmeriszd by her belly dancing and met her the backstage at one of her concerts.

"I'd always been a very focused dancer and very protected. Prince was my first crush, and my first love, but we didn't start to get serious until I turned 18. He was very respectful."

After dating for more than four years, Prince and Garcia got married in 1996 when she was just 22 years old. Soon after their marriage, they had their first child, Boy Gregory, who died a week after his birth from Pfeiffer syndrome.

"I believe a child dying between a couple either makes you stronger or it doesn't. For me, it was very, very hard to move forward and for us as a couple I think it probably broke us," she added.

Garcia further stated that after Prince, she met and dated a couple of guys from the music industry. Even they tried to write songs and poems for her but she knew by her heart that no one can compete with Prince.

Garcia is not the only one who has come forward to talk about Prince. Carmen Electra, who earlier signed a recording deal with Prince posted on Instagram account that she cannot believe that Prince is gone.

"I'm in shock! I love u, Prince. Hope you're comfortable and peaceful now. Play on, my love, play on."

In the past three decades, Prince has sold more that 100 million records and has released 39 solo albums. It was back in 1982 when after the breakthrough of his album, "1999" when Prince became a sensational star.

Furthermore, TMZ reported that the singer was treated for drug overdose few days before his death. Fans and celebrities are mourning for the loss of such gem.
