HBO airs the premiere of the acclaimed Season 6 cast of Game of Thrones. In episode 1The Red Woman, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) continue with author George R.R. Martin's ongoing epic saga.

As the wolves howl, Jon Snow is lying in a puddle of his own blood.  Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham) comes out  running to find Snow's dead body. As Jon's eyes are closed, Davos wonders who in the Knights Watch can he trust. Melisandre (Carice van Houten) shows up at the same time as the new leader of the Knights Watch announces Snow is dead.

Davos debates with Jon's friends, who are ready to fight and take back Castle Black. While Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) grieves and seeks revenge, he needs Sansa Stark to conquer the North and produce an heir.

Elsewhere, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Threon (Alfie Allen) are on the run, trudging through the ice water. Theon's soldiers have Sansa captured when Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) shows up and attacks them. After killing everyone in Theon's army, Brienne and Sansa swear their allegiance to each other.

When a boat arrives, Cersei (Lena Headey) is overjoyed until she sees Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) showing up alone. Jamie and Cersei mourn for the loss of their sweet daughter. Cersei realizes the witch's prophecy came true, her three children are going to die. Jamie doesn't care about prophecy; he just wants to build Cersei back up.

After Margaery (Natalie Dormer) asks for her brother, the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) advises her to purge her sins. Meanwhile, Ellaria Sand (Indira Anne Varma) continues her siege to take back her fallen kingdom.

Looking around, Tyrion wonders whether he can win the trust of the people, since he cannot speak the language. Patience is waning as the former slaves are tired of waiting for the Mother of Dragons to return. As the bells ring, Tyron follows the running crowd and finds the empire burning.

Daario (Michiel Huisman) and Jorah (Iain Glen) are on the search for Danenerys. Jorah hopes to find her before the infection takes over. After they find a clue, Daenerys is whipped by the Dothraki as she trips during the march. After being sexually mocked, Daenerys is taken to the leader, Khal Moro. After hearing her name, Khal bursts out laughing; she is the queen of nothing.

After hearing she is Drgo's wife, Daenerys is cut loose, but that doesn't mean she's free. Out in the streets, Arya Stark listens to the people talking. Though she is blind, The Waif (Faye Marsay) wants Arya to fight to continue her training.

Throne promises Davos and his people a chance at amnesty; they have till sundown to surrender. Davos knows he needs Melisandre to help them fight Thorne. The witch strips nude, takes off her necklace, and becomes an old woman before going back to bed.
