The last episode of The Walking Dead Season 6 has finally featured the introduction of the sadistic villain Negan, who was played with obvious relish by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. But did The Good Wife star only land the role with the help of Norman Reedus, who portrays fan favorite Daryl Dixon?

According to Star (via ComicBook.com), Reedus had gone out of his way to make sure that Morgan would get the part of the evil comic book character who is the leader of the Saviors. In addition to that, the tabloid magazine reported that the Triple 9 star has been urging TWD producers to give Daryl and Negan bigger roles in the next season.

If it sounds ridiculous, it probably is. A spokesperson for Reedus has just addressed the rumors, stating that it simply isn't true.

"As usual with Star, this story is complete nonsense," the spokesperson said to Gossip Cop, adding that Reedus was not involved with how Morgan getting the part in The Walking Dead.

"Norman has absolutely nothing to do with the casting or storylines on the show," the spokesperson said, although it was confirmed that Reedus is good friends with Morgan as well as TWD costars Andrew Lincoln and Steven Yeun.

"He has strong friendships with Andrew, Steven and Jeffrey, and is thrilled to work with them all as much as humanly possible," the spokesperson concluded.

Morgan's first appearance on The Walking Dead involved a grim monologue as he taunted Rick (Lincoln) with the decision to kill one of the members of his group. His selection was made even more terrifying as he played "eenie meenie miney moe" with the group before deciding on his victim, whose identity has yet to be revealed.

The Walking Dead Season 7 is expected to air on AMC this October.
