With Rebirth coming up, DC Entertainment changes the status quo in with Batman #51. This is the perfect opportunity to check out Bruce Wayne's return as DC Comics' The Dark Knight in writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo's final issue.

As we previously mentioned, in Volume 8: Superheavy, the original Dark Knight was missing in action due to his epic confrontation with his arch-nemesis, the clown prince of crime. Because Gotham City needed a hero, ex police commissioner Jim Gordon stepped up and took over the Batman mantle. As the doomed city lay in ruins, it needed Gordon and Wayne to put a stop to Mr. Bloom's reign of terror.

We have 5 reasons why you should read Batman #51 here:

5) The Creative Team! Ever since they came in for The New 52, Snyder and Capullo have dropped one unforgettable arc after another. First it was Court of the Owls, then Death of the Family, followed by Endgame. They even recreated the Batman origin through the 12 issue arc, Year Zero. The writing and artwork were just phenomenal as they took the series took another level.

4) The Aftermath!

At the end of issue #50, Bruce Wayne became a faster and stronger fighter because all of his physical wounds and scars have been healed. After risking his life to save Gotham, Jim Gordon received his badge back and promoted back as police commissioner. What happens now to their friendship?

3) To The Fans Everywhere!

In an interview with Comic Vine, Snyder described the issue as "really just a letter to the fans from us and a letter to Batman. It's the lightest I've ever written. Not lightest as in happy, but light as in not as many panels per page. It's really, really open. It's a chance for Greg to draw the close before we take our break."

2) A Chance To Breathe!

In issue #50, Bruce Wayne has fought to the death with The Joker, broken up with his fiancee, Julie Madison, and saved the city from Mr. Bloom. What does Bruce do on a quite night in Gotham?

1) Rebirth is Coming! According to Nerdist, Snyder will be penning All-Star Batman with a lineup of rotating artists. Greyson co-writer Tom King will be taking over the reins of Batman with an unnamed illustrator. This critic is very interested in seeing how the direction of this series goes from here!

Batman #51 arrives in stores on April 26.
