Game of Thrones S06E05: The Door Maisie Williams, Kit Harington Premiere Recap

HBO continues with the premiere of the acclaimed Season 6 of Game of Thrones. In episode 5, The Door, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) fight for control and power in author George R.R. Martin's ongoing epic saga.

As Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) sews, Jon delivers her a message.  Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) and Sansa then meet with Little Finger (Aidan Gillen). Sansa then retells the story of how Ramsay raped her. Sansa doesn't believe he can protect her and threatens to kill him; she never wants to see him. He then offers her words of advice on how to proceed next.

Arya Stark ends up getting her butt taken down during training but that won't stop her. Jaqen H'ghar (Tom Wlaschiha) sees this and shows her the temple of faces, the first faceless ones. Arya is given a second chance, but not a third, meet Lady Crane at the theater. 

The theater performs a play that mocks Ned Stark and Joffrey. Backstage, Arya sees the bottle of rum and plans to dip  the poison there, but she needs a face. Jagen won't reveal why Lady Crane should die because a servant shouldn't ask questions.

Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) continues his journey into the past. He sees the origin of the white walkers and wakes up. Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) fights for her place at the throne; Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) proves to the crowd why she should be queen. Yara wants to execute the uncle for killing her father. 

As the uncle is baptized and almost drowns in the water, Yara and Theon head out on their boats. As king, the uncle just wants o murder his niece and nephew but they have escaped on their ships.

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) stands with Dario (Michiel Huisman) and Jorah (Iain Glen). Knowing he must be sent away, Jorah shows her his infection and tells her he loves her. After Jorah walks away, Daenerys wants him to stay and demands he heals himself. She need him by her side. He watches as Daenerys rides back with the Dotraki.

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) knows there is a truce but the people need a hero. He meets with Mereen and asks for her help. The high priestess scars Lord Varys with a secret piece of knowledge from his past. 

Bran finds himself in another vision quest. In the snowy mountains, Bran is surrounded by millions of white walkers. He walks among them and spots the Night's King. Bran screams after the Night's King grabs his shoulder. With the White Walkers coming, it's time for Bran to become the three eyed Raven.

Jon realizes they are outnumbered but Sansa argues with Davos (Liam Cunningham) there are allies. Briennne doesn't trust Sansa alone with the Wildlings. Jon hugs his friend before leaving with Sansa to round up the other Houses.  

While Bran is in his trance. Meera runs out and finds the White Walkers standing outside. As the children fight with fire. the walkers are swarming in. Bran takes command of Hordor. As Bran escapes, the three-eyed Raven is killed by the Night's Watch. 

Hordor sacrifices himself to save Bran.
