Silicon Valley S03E07 To Build a Better Beta Thomas Middleditch, TJ Miller Premiere Recap

From the comedic mind of Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-head), Season 3 continues with the premiere of Silicon Valley on HBO. In Episode 7, can Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller), Richard Hendriks (Thomas Middleditch), and the rest of the tech gang sit in To Build a Better Beta?

As Richard works out on the bugs, he argues with Jared (Zach Woods) and Dinesh (Kumail Nanjiani) about releasing the beta. Gilfoyle (Martin Starr) passed the beta to a friend but she thinks it's working fine, but it's the storage platform that needs working on.

With his business broke, Elrich watches as the movers take out his belongings. Big Head's manager tells Elrich that filing bankruptcy will not absolve him from paying off his debts. As Richard hands out invites, Dinesh and Gilfoyle argue who has more friends. 

Monica (Amanda Crews) is upset with Richard that he didn't send her the beta before launch. With the house in trouble, Jared explains to Elrich that there is money missing. Then Big Head (Josh Brener) and Elrich accuse the their manger of stealing from them. The manager actually moved around the money but he doesn't have the cash.

Endframe discovers that Pied Piper's beta is ready to launch. Gavin Belson (Matt Ross) has been hacking into his employee's emails, learning about the beta launch. Monica is having trouble with the beta that Dinesh sent her. 

Gilfoyle shows off his new friend to Dinesh. Richard continues to get rave reviews about the beta, except from Monica. Trying to offer criticism, Monica has issues with the interface. Richard is even excited to move up the meeting with Laurie. 

At City hall, Big Head and Elrich defends their  case, but they're too unsympathetic. To get himself out of bankruptcy, Elrich refuses to give off his shares of Pied Piper. Dinesh tries to prevent Richard from giving off his more invitations, but Gilfoyle has already made the iP address.

Gilfoyle discovers that not only Dinesh has no friends, Richard has passed over the beta to Hooli. Richard and Gilfoyle mess around with the emails, so that Gavin gets a virus. Endgame has to turn off its power afterwards.

The employees at Endframe decide to quit on Gavin, revealing they used to work for him at Hooli. After Elrich drops off Big Head at his place, Richard meets with Monica at the hooka bar. Monica doesn't like anything about the beta. 

Richard is proud of his beta but Monica has doubts about the beta. As Richard decides to work on the beta, Elrich has to give up his shares. 

Richard licks on his mouse, launching the beta after all.
