Season 2 of the Batman prequel series, Gotham, aired its finale on Fox. Will young Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) and his mentor Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), and crime lord Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) meet the female version of The Mad Hatter?

In our finale recap, Clayface was providing a distraction at the precinct, while the real Jim Gordon was being mentally tortured by Dr. Hugo Strange (BD Wong). While Lucius Fox (Chris Chalk) and Bruce were playing Nygma (Cory Michael Smith)'s riddles, it was up to Selina (Camren Bicondova) to save the day. After Barbara (Erin Richards) proved Clayface was a fake, Bullock ordered a raid on Arkham Asylum.

Though Gordon and Fox managed to stop the detonation, Strange's experiments managed to escape from the asylum. Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) led the escape before her brief confrontation with Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor). An onslaught of monsters, including the Mad Hatter, Killer Kroc, and a cloned version of Bruce Wayne wandered into the streets of Gotham.

In the DC universe, the Mad Hatter is known to fans as Jervis Tetch, who modeled himself after the Lewis Carroll character. Jarvis was once an intelligent but lonely scientist who invented technological mind-controlling devices. In the cartoon series, Jarvis turned into a tragic figure who manipulated the minds of his victims, when he couldn't have that one person.

In an interview with TV Line, EP John Stephens teases that the new Mad Hatter is someone, "who uses her sexuality to entrap men."

According to DC All-Access, the caption states, If you thought life in Gotham was wild before, wait till you get a load of it in Season 3! In this exclusive DCTV clip, we talk to the cast of Fox's Gotham about bringing Season 2 to a triumphant close and what lies ahead in the show's eagerly awaited third season. In short, more super-villains, possibly including one who's absolutely...mad."

Gotham Season 3 will return to Fox in the fall.
