Was it Professor Plum in the library with a revolver? Or was it Miss Scarlet in the hall with a knife? Perhaps it was Mrs. White in the dining room with a lead pipe or Colonel Mustard in the billiard room with a rope. But it could have been Mr. Green in the study with a wrench or even Mrs. Peacock in the conservatory with a candlestick. Those questions will be answered once more as 20th Century Fox lands Hasbro's most iconic board game, Clue, and another movie will be up in the works very soon.

The live-action remake has been talked about a lot. In fact, this remake is reportedly an action-packed one, which is a little different compared to the 1985 movie starring Tim Curry, who played Wadsworth, the supposed butler of Mr. Boddy, who was actually the victim. Hasbro is co-producing this with Fox, and the one taking the reigns on Hasbro's side is Josh Feldman, according to Digital Spy. Daria Cercek is doing the job for Fox, according to Variety.

The Clue remake was originally a project between Hasbro and Universal Studios, however due to the movie adaptation for another classic board game, Battleship, being such a flop, it was scrapped.

According to Nerdist, regarding what Fox's plans are for the remake, they plan to "move the story out of the parlor and make it a game of worldwide mystery with action-adventure elements.." Which would mean taking a different direction towards the classic whodunit...

It may have come as a surprise, seeing as the original movie remains a classic, and some people might not have been too happy about a remake, mostly due to said original starring Tim Curry, whose other works are also being remade; The Rocky Horror Picture Show is being turned into a television series, and Stephen King's It is being remade with Bill Skarsgard taking over the role of the scary clown, Pennywise.

Although the news is out there, not much can be said, as the details have yet to be revealed. All we know is that this movie is still in development but that's something, right? Whether you're excited or not, hopefully this remake can surprise us all while keeping the original sense of humor and elements from the 1985 movie. For now, we can stick to watching the cult classic and playing the board game.
