Maksim Chmerkovskiy DWTS Season 23 Return Thanks to Bro Val?

He may have already won a mirrorball trophy but Maksim Chmerkovskiy is hoping to add another one to his collection. The former Dancing with the Stars professional, who decided to leave the show in 2014 has decided to lace up his dancing shoes once again. The star will be hitting the ballroom for season 23 of the popular ABC series.

According to Us Weekly, Chmerkovskiy credits his brother, who is also part of the series, for getting him back in the dancing groove.

"I decided to return to DWTS because I had an amazing time dancing with my brother this summer during our tour. It felt great," the 14-time DWST pro explained to the site. "Getting back into shape allowed me to entertain this idea. I am in the best shape of my life, so why not spend a few months with my brother and the cast members and have fun!"

Chmerkovskiy dropped the exciting news when he stopped by the set of Good Morning America. The star told them that he got so much support from the fans while participating in Maks & Val Live on Tour: Our Way Tour, that he felt he needed to come back to the ABC show.

"The last 12 years, everything that happened in my life had some sort of relationship to the show," the former winner explained. "I just wanted this to continue, the feeling, the positivity, so much love out there."

"I'm just excited," the star continued. "The way it came together and the way I ended up on Dancing With the Stars as a pro this season is very different than any other season that I've done. I'm looking forward to that new way of being on the show."

Other pros that Chmerkovskiy will join include, Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Lindsay Arnold, Allison Holker, Sasha Farber and Gleb Savchenko.
