The PC based movie "Warcraft" may not have been received positively by critics but Star Wars VIII director Rian Johnson praised the movie. The director said that he missed the movie because he was shooting and only got the chance to watch it. Johnson acclaimed the movie despite the not so appealing reviews the movie received.

Johnson posted on Twitter praising the movie and calling it "a glorious trio-human, emotional and metal". Johnson is directing Star Wars VIII which was reported to be released on December 2017.

"Warcraft" director Duncan Jones thanked Johnson and joked by asking how his little indie was going. Jones had expressed his interest in directing a full movie trilogy for the "Warcraft" movie but no update has been out yet if this will push through.

Although the movie did very well in its premiere in China in June 2016, which made it the highest grossing film in the country for this year, it did not fare well in North America. According to GameRant, critics felt that it is more of a prequel. Nevertheless, the fans of the Blizzard property game were more than happy of the director's attention to the weapons and costumes in the movie adaptation. Fans of the game gave the movie a positive rate saying that the critics were too harsh. Despite this, the movie had a low return in the U.S box office.

According to a report, back in June it was said that if the movie gets at least $200 million ticket sales a sequel may be possible. However, there have been no talks of a follow up until now. For the mean time, Jones is working on his indie film titled "Mute" starred by Alexander Skarsgard, a movie about a mute bartender. "Warcraft" movie is now available to enjoy on Blu-Ray/DVD which was released early in September.
