The passengers of British Airways on a commercial flight back to London were in for a big surprise as the Duchess of Cambridge boarded the plane on the last minute.

Kate Middleton, the daughter of Carole Middleton (who was a Bristish Airline air hostess) boarded the last flight on 7:15 p.m. with her bodyguards at the last minute according to International Business Times. The Duchess wore a vintage style pastel blue Skirt suit designed by Catherine Walker. Gianvito Rossi suede pumps for shoes, nude box clutch from L.K. Bennett and matching pearl and diamond earrings loaned from Queen Elizabeth II, a complete stylish look fit for royalty.

Kate spent the day in Mauritshuis Museum where gallery director Emilie Gordenker said the Duchess  delightfully described her trip there as a "real treat." Kate with her knowledge of fine art took time appreciating paintings such as Vermeer's famous creation "The Girl With The Pearl Earrings" (coincidentally with a similar taste in jewelry as her) and "The Bull" by Paulus Potter. Kate also spared some of her time to meet a young artist learning the craft of painting in Mauritshuis gallery's learning program.

Also in Kate Middleton's agenda for the day was a meeting with the Dutch monarch King Willem-Alexander. The King graciously welcomed her by saying "Welcome, welcome, very nice to see you.", this had been the first time in three years since the Dutch kingdom was visited by British royalty according to the Dailymail.co.uk. The two also shared laughs together before sitting down for lunch along with with wife Queen Maxima and their three daughters, Princesses Amalia, Alexia and Ariane.

The progression of Kate's day came along with endless smiles and handshakes from young children carrying banners and flags also other civilians who not only showered her with flowers but also with gifts and yummy treats.

Several commentators believes Kate Middleton to be an asset in safeguarding the UK's relations with European neighbors as Brexit continues to take shape in the years to come.
