Victoria's Secret knows the youths love messaging apps. Instead of marketing on popular platforms like Snapchat or Kik, it made its own. The lingerie retailer has rolled out a mobile chat feature on it's shopping app, Pink, that lets shoppers participate in public message boards that have predetermined topics. Fashionista reports users can also customize their background colors and use branded emoticons. Barneys New York, the luxury specialty retailer, announced recently the 2014 Holiday campaign: BAZ DAZZLED Holiday; a collaboration with world renowned writer/director/producer Baz Luhrmann and his wife, costume designer and collaborator Catherine Martin. Each year, Barneys taps someone famous to collaborate on a campaign and limited edition collection for the holidays. The Baz Dazzled Holiday collection, which follows collabs with Lady Gaga, Disney and Jay Z, hit select Barneys locations and Barneys.com on Thursday Nov. 13. In a city where each department store is trying to outshine the competition, the holidays are all about making things big and bright - which happens to be Luhrmann and Martin's specialty, as they proved at Thursday night's unveiling.
