In the history of corporate cold wars, Apple's antagonism with other companies in the industry has become the most spoken off. There is no single product from Apple, that doesn't have a direct competitor out there. However, their MacBook series has for a long time stood as the point of reference for computer manufacturers, especially when it comes to hardware quality. This explains why their rumored MacBook Pro 2016 has raised tantrums in the Ultrabook domain. Every brand wants to build something that will fight against the Mac Pro 2016.

Initially, Microsoft's Surface Pro 5 was thought to be the most earnest rival to the MacBook Pro 2016, but a new addition has just been made. Acer, has released their Acer Swift 7 to exchange blows with the Mac Pro 2016. Well, let's have a look at what each of these three combatants have in common.

According to GamenGuide, Acer was quite creative when they made sure that their Swift 7 wouldn't be as sacrificing when it comes to USB ports and battery size. It has 2 USB 3.1 Type C ports. When compared to what we speculate of the MacBook Pro 2016, the Swift 7 will have a bigger and better battery than the Mac and yet remain to be the slimmest laptop in the world.

Currently, Acer Swift 7 is the thinnest laptop in the world, with a thickness of less than a centimeter. The Verge however pointed out that the swift 7 is the heaviest of the three, as it weighs about 1.1 kilograms. This means that it's several grams heavier than Asus's master piece (Asus Zen Book 3) and the Mac too. To guarantee victory over the MacBook Pro 2016, Acer went ahead and released a Spin 7 upgrade of the Swift 7. The Spin 7 will have touch capabilities and a 360 degree spin hinge so as to counter Apple, in case they decide to include the hinge in their MacBook Pro 2016.

Nevertheless, Microsoft's Surface Pro won't have a hinge and is more of a tablet than a laptop, but it sure has something that Acer were too hasty to observe in their Swift 7. If Acer wanted to beat the Mac Pro 2016, they should have waited until Apple slapped their 4K display on the Mac Pro 2016.

Although all three devices feature Intel's 7th generation processors (Intel Kaby Lake i7 and i5), and up to 8 gigs of RAM, the OS might give the Surface Pro and Swift 7 an edge over the Mac Pro 2016. The Mac will run on Mac OS while the other two rivals will be on Windows 10. The only hitch that Acer Swift 7 has over the other two rivals, is its display. It uses a 13.3 Fully HD IPS screen, something that can't be compared to the 4K resolutions expected in the MacBook Pro 2016 and Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
