The Daft Punk rumor mill continues to spin as the release of their new 2014 album Random Access Memories gets closer. The band has used a clever marketing plan, unveiling teaser videos on "Saturday Night Live" and at Coachella. They recently just released the new single "Get Lucky," which has already become a major hit for the French electronic duo. Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo also have been releasing a video series titled "The Collaborators" which features appearances from the likes of Chic's Nile Rodgers and Pharrell Williams discussing their collaboration on the new album.

Joining Rodgers and Williams collaborating on "Random Access Memories" are Panda Bear, Julian Casblancas and others. The highly anticipated album is set to be released May 21. This will be Daft Punk's first album since their 2005 hit Human After All. They also recorded music for the "Tron: Legacy" soundtrack in 2010.

There were some rumors that Daft Punk may make an appearance with Pharrell Williams at NYC's House of Vans venue. Pharrell hinted that something special would happen and some speculated that Daft Punk may make an appearance to perform their new single "Get Lucky." Unfortunately we haven't heard any news of them performing at the Friday night show.

"Get Lucky" has created so much buzz that music streaming service Spotify announced that Daft Punk's single had the biggest streaming day for a single day on Friday in the U.S. and U.K according to the Miami Herald.

Earlier in the week an apparent fake leak of Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" fooled some. Fans reportedly just looped together the teaser's from the new single, making some believe it was the full song. However, since then, the real full song has been released. This entire process of teaser trailers and reveals has gained a lot of momentum for Daft Punk's new album, which figures to be a major success.
