After thirty years, the "Indiana Jones" story still lives on. It is one of the most successful and popular film franchises that were ever made. "Indiana Jones" became an iconic character.

When the news of a fifth installment surfaced, fans of the franchise cannot wait for more updates. It was announced in March that actor Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Indiana Jones for "Indiana Jones 5". So far, that was all there is to know of who will join the cast. No update has come out of other cast members yet.

Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that David Koepp will write the script for "Indiana Jones 5". Koepp was also the collaborator of Spielberg for the "Jurassic Park" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

It was rumored that the story creator George Lucas will not be involved in the making of "Indiana Jones 5". In a report by Cheat Sheet, however, director Steven Spielberg had said that Lucas will have input in the movie. "George is going to be an executive producer on it with me," he announced in June. "Of course I would never make an Indiana Jones film without George Lucas. That would be insane."

In an interview with David Koepp by Collider, he had said that Lucas is not involved in the story of "Indiana Jones 5". Koepp revealed that he had not any contact with him. This will be the first for the franchise if so because Lucas has been a key figure for making the "Indiana Jones" films.

The writer had been silent about the movie's plot but hinted that there will be lots of aliens. He also joked in the interview with Collider that the character will die at the end of the movie. Spielberg, however, had earlier stated in one of his interviews that Indiana Jones will not die in "Indiana Jones 5".

Legendary composer John Williams will be back to score the fifth "Indiana Jones". Williams did the musical score for the first four franchises.

It was also reported that according to Disney chief Bob Iger, the upcoming "Indiana Jones" movie will not be the last of the franchise. Disney is still trying to come up of a way for the iconic character to continue to live on.

"Indiana Jones 5" has not been given an official title yet and filming will begin in 2018. Disney had dated its release for July 19, 2019.
