The '3 Doors Down' bassist, Todd Harrell, was reportedly arrested in Nashville on Friday night and faces "vehicular homicide" charges after killing a man in a fatal car crash, reports Rolling Stone.

The rock band member's "Kryptonite" that lead to the tragic death of 47-year-old Paul Howard Shoulders was a mixture of prescription pills and hard cider.

A statement from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department said a preliminary investigation showed that Harrell was driving west at a high rate of speed on Interstate 40 in the Nashville suburb of Hermitage, when his car clipped a pickup truck driven by Shoulders. Police said the pickup then went out of control, struck a guardrail, went down an embankment and overturned. Shoulders was ejected and was allegedly not wearing a seat-belt.

Harrell's Cadillac struck the retaining wall and stopped about a quarter mile away.

According to CNN, police said that the 41-yeear-old musician showed signs of impairment and acknowledged he had consumed hard cider and taken the prescription pills Lortab and Xanax prior to getting into the car crash.

During a search in the booking room, authorities said, Davidson County Sheriff's deputies discovered a plastic bag concealed in Harrell's sock that contained 8 Xanax pills, 24 oxycodone pills and 4 oxymorphone pills. Harrell also has been charged with bringing controlled substances into the jail.

The '3 Doors Down' founding member reportedly still remains in jail, as of Sunday morning, with his bail set for $100,000. The official said Harrell will face a court appearance on Thursday morning.

Police also revealed that the pickup's driver, Paul Howard Shoulders, was pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

According to Stone, the rock band, which formed in Mississippi in the mid-Nineties and came to fame with hits like "Kryptonite" and "Here Without You," released a statement regarding the incident on their website:

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Paul Howard Shoulders, Jr.," they wrote. "Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this difficult time."

Prior to this weekend's incident, '3 Doors Down' had announced their intentions to extend their current "greatest hits" tour that they were headlining with fellow rocker Chris Daughtry, reports Loudwire.

"We are looking forward to great summer touring with our friends in Daughtry,' said 3 Doors Down main man Brad Arnold. " Everyone had so much fun on the last two legs that we had to add a third and hit some new cities and some outdoor sunshine along the way. See you on the road!"

Updates on the tour's status have not yet been provided, but with the news of this unfortunate incident, we can only assume that fans will not be seeing Todd Harrell back on "the road" anytime soon.
