The recent Halloween update for Pokemon Go has sparked renewed interest for the game. Niantic, wanting to strike while the iron is hot, has announced another update to keep the fire burning. The update will feature a daily reward system for players, giving out experience points and items for regularly catching Pokemon and dropping by Pokestops.

According to WCCF Tech, catching at least one Pokemon a day will reward the player 500 experience points and 600 stardust, usable for powering up Pokemon. Doing this regularly for seven days will merit the player and additional 2000 experience points and 2400 stardust. Same goes for daily visits to Pokestops and spinning the Photo Disc, which would earn the player 500 experience points and "a number of additional items", while doing it for seven consecutive days would give 2000 experience points and "a greater number of additional items" on top of the daily reward. What the "additional items" consists of, though, are still kept a secret by the developers.

Rewards would be given after midnight the following day, as reported by Engadget. This means that when a player catches a Pokemon around 5 PM Tuesday, for example, the player would receive the 500 XP and 600 stardust by 12 AM Wednesday local time.  As of press time, no schedule was given for the release of the new update.

Pokemon Go, the mobile game spinoff of the massively popular Pokemon Series, would surely benefit greatly from this update. Since its initial release on July 2016, it was suffering from a steady decline until the release of the Halloween update. Developed by Niantic, the augmented reality game allows players to travel on a map, where they can encounter and catch wild Pokemon based on the player's geographical location.

Unlike the traditional Pokemon games, however, players catch Pokemon by throwing Pokeballs directly at them. Strengthening and evolving Pokemon, which are some of the game's feature mechanics, work differently in Pokemon Go as well. Battling takes the form of Gym battles, wherein the player first needs to join a specific team (Valor, Msytic and Instict), then battles a rival team's "gym" to take it over.
