Toblerone's new shape caused displeasure to chocolate lovers! People are blaming Brexit

Any fan of chocolate can easily say that Toblerone is one of the best chocolate brands.Toblerone happens to be one of the best known Swiss chocolate brands in the market.

Passionate chocolate fans are extremely unhappy with the company's decision to change the iconic signature shape of their chocolate bar. Toblerone's famous triangular shape is commonly believed to be inspired by Theodor Tobler's (inventor) mountainous homeland, the Matterhorn mountain in particular. But this was proven to be false when Theodor's sons claimed that the signature design was inspired by a red and cream-frilled line of dancers at the Folies Bergères in Paris.

Toblerone manufacturers reported according to International Business Times that the change was a decision made due to rising costs for production in the chocolate industry. The company stated that the change is only happening in the UK. The original design had 400g bars but the change reduced it to 360g, while 170g bars are now 150g. The price remains unchanged, basically indicating that Toblerone lovers in the U.K. will be getting around 10% less chocolate for the same price.

Chocolate fans speculate that Brexit may the reason why this changed occured, an article from Time indicated that people believe that the cost of chocolate production was a direct effect of Brexit. Brexit is a reference to United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union. The article stated that there has been no confirmation to this belief, and that a spokesman from U.S.-based company "Mondelez International" (one of the companies that manufactures Toblerone chocolate) denied that the change of design has anything to do with the political matter.

Nevertheless the viral topic continues to displease chocolate enthusiast everywhere. However despite of the change in design and little decrease of quantity, Toblerone reassured their passionate chocolate fans that the "quality" of the brand will remain uncompromised in terms of taste.
