Production for Deadpool 2 seems to be having a rocky start, with director Tim Miller and composer Junkie XL recently leaving the team. Despite the setbacks, 20th Century Fox is confident on the franchise that a third installment is being planned as early as now.

Along with the third Deadpool outing, Fox plans to introduce another X-team to the big screen, the X-Force, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This appears to be in line with how the second movie is shaping out, as Cable and Domino, two key figures of X-Force, will be making their debut in the sequel.

As reported by /Film, Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular Merc with a Mouth, has been very vocal about planning to bring the Marvel team into the X-Men Cinematic Universe. There were also several reports stating that Fox has been working on an X-Force adaptation several months ago.

For the third film to get off the ground, however, Fox has a big hurdle to overcome. And that is completing Deadpool 2. While several names are said to be in the running to helm the sequel to this new franchise, David Leitch, co-director of John Wick, is reportedly negotiating with Fox to take the spot.

The X-Force is a Marvel Superhero team that first appeared in 1991. Created by Rob Leifeld, the same mind that created Deadpool, this offshoot of the X-Men was intended to be more aggressive and more militant than its mainstream counterpart. It has a rotating roster, much like Avengers and X-Men, and was initially led by Cable, also known as Nathan Summers.

Deadpool's first outing was a box office phenomenon, raking in over $782 million worldwide, become the highest-grossing R-Rated film of all time, and receiving positive reviews from critics. Wanting to take advantage of the success, Fox green lit a sequel shortly after the first movie's release.
