“Rick and Morty” Season3 Spoilers: Rick Escapes Prison, Becomes Pickle & More Weird Stories

Adult Swim's "Rick and Morty" fans will truly have something to look forward to after creators of the show has confirmed season 3. And to add another layer of frosting to the cake, next season will be announced at the end of the year plus will air sooner than expected. It was rumored that season 3 of the popular cartoon series will air April 2017 but lately, co-creator Dan Harmon said that they could return earlier. Writer Erica Rosbe even confirmed that they are done with all 14 episodes and were just waiting for in-house screenings from their animation studio.

According to GamenGuide, it could take a while for the new season to air despite creators already done with all the episodes. Fans could only wish that Adult Swim confirm the news soon and keep themselves from guessing when it would be.

Sarah Carbiener, who also writes for "Rick and Morty," appeared with Rosbe in a podcast "Chicks Who Scrip." The two said that one of the reasons why it could take longer to air next season was that they scrutinize the scenes very carefully with rewriting done every step of the process just to come up with a good story. Writing for the show very tedious with 11 writers, each one lashing out his own plot device. The writers said that it's incomparable to a typical network TV production.

Aside from reporting the great news, TV Cheat Sheet gave "Rick and Morty" fans a heads up on what to expect next season.

Season 2 ended with Rick Sanchez getting arrested for a litany of crimes. The intergalactic police has finally caught Rick and allowed his family to return to earth. He was processed and incarcerated but surely, as with every possible "Rich and Morty" episode that has been created, he will escape. But how? Fans only have to wait for season 3 to find out.

There are no trailers yet for season 3 but followers could get inspiration from a brief unedited footage of the show that was shown at the San Diego Comic-Con. In the short 90-second clip, Rick was a pickle and was trying to escape from a horde of hungry rats. The swarm overpowered Rick but he was able to tear through. The clip proved that there will be more strange stories next season just like what "Rick and Morty" fans want the show to be.
