“The Walking Dead” S7 E4 ‘Service’ Recap – Not Much Action Just Full of Negan Rants

"The Walking Dead" season 7 episode 4 'Service' aired Sunday night on AMC. But instead of getting awesome reviews just like previous TWD episodes; 'Service' turned out to be a dud according to online reviews. Those who were able to watch were expecting a return-to-action episode which noticeably kept on decreasing since episode 2. But instead of a zombie shooting plus smashing episode, it featured how the group managed to survive in Alexandria where they were again followed and taunted by none other than Negan.

Forbes was quick to release a review of the most recent "The Walking Dead" episode and it mentioned that 'Service' was the weakest episode yet. The review pointed out that creators seem to be focusing on one group at a time per episode with this week highlighting on survivors that have settled in Alexandria. Negan's character was able to cement a strong villain-type in the minds of viewers during the early episodes of the season. However he was portrayed as a rambling, bat-wielding bully taking the group's guns and mattresses in 'Service.' Characters that appeared only once or twice in the previous episodes were also seen but rarely spoke a word like Rosita and Michonne. The two were spotted doing work for Negan.

Still other reviews for 'Service' said that creators of the series could just have stuffed all the previous episodes including the recent one into one hour-long special. Nothing much happened, said one review, and of course fans of the show could only look forward to next week's episode entitled 'Go Getters.'

Meanwhile, Comic Book mentioned that Sasha and Maggie were not present in 'Service' because the two are journeying to the Hilltop. This will be featured on the next episode 'Go Getters.' The Hilltop is a small farming community located miles from Alexandria. Hopefully, this will be inaccessible to Negan and the next episode would be free from his rants enough to yield a better plot.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 episode 5 'Go Getters' will air on November 20, Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
