OnePlus 3T Price, Specs, Release Date: Handset is to launch today

OnePlus has been counting the days for the launch of OnePlus 3T as seen in their Twitter page. It was around the same time last year when OnePlus X was launched and an upgrade of the phone was expected, however, the makers said that upgrade of the said phone will not happen. A new phone model will be released instead.

Tech Advisor reported that OnePlus 3T will be launched today, November 15, at 1:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. UK. A live stream of the US launch can be viewed on OnePlus' Facebook account. A release date has not been named so far but the handset is speculated to be out for sale in a month, given that release of OnePlus 4 is anticipated early next year.

One Plus 3T is an upgraded version of its predecessor and is expected to be way better. The phone makers had teased on Twitter that the new phone will be "more precise", "more powerful" and "more never settle". OnePus 3T is said to look like its predecessor, OnePlus 3, but improvements will be in the inside.

The new OnePlus handset was confirmed by the maker to come with the Snapdragon 821 processor at 2.35GHz. A 6GB of RAM will be available on the phone which is what its predecessor had.

The handset was reported by Gadgets 360 to pack a battery at 3300mAH and an aperture of f/1.7 compared to the f/2.0 of OnePlus 3. It was also earlier rumored that OnePlus 3T will run on Android 7.0 Nougat-based OxygenOS to improve the performance of the phone.

Brian Yoon, head of the Chinese company's software, had said that the a Nougat beta community will be available to the OnePlus 3 by the end of the month and will roll out to the OnePlus 3s by the end of the year. It is likely that OnePlus 3T will run on Marshmallow and will later on be upgraded to a Nougat.

Another rumored improvement that was said to come with OnePlus 3T is the phone's display. The handset was said to move from Optic AMOLED, like its predecessor, to LCD. It was rumored that the company is experiencing a shortage of the OLED display, thus, the switch. CEO Carl Pei however said on Twitter that they will be using the Optic AMOLED display "for the forseeable future".

OnePlus 3T is rumored to come with a 16-megapixel Sony IMX398 in its rear camera instead of the 16-megapixel Sony IMX298 present in OnePlus 3. The new sensor is supposed to feature better and faster auto-focus and will be a big help in capturing moving objects.

Another rumor in the list for OnePlus 3T is a variant of 64GB and 128 GB built-in storage. It was speculated that price for the phone may be at USD 480, which is USD 80 more than its predecessor but is still lower that Google Pixel or iPhone 7 Plus.Confirming these rumors will not take long, launch of the phone is today, November 15, at 1:00 p.m ET/ 7:00 p.m. UK.
