Groot is coming back in the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," but unfortunately he won't be himself in his original size. In the first movie, Groot sacrificed himself for his teammates and to the almost dismay of moviegoers, it was shown that a part of himself survived as he reverts back to Baby Groot.

Baby Groot will be Goofier in "Guardians of the Galaxy 2"

Groot's voice actor, Vin Diesel, revealed that apart from his new size, the Marvel superhero will be a lot more "goofy" than he was in his original size. Diesel told Collider in an interview that Baby Groot will be more naïve in his ways just like a young child would as they learn everything from scratch.

Baby Groot is Not the Original Groot from "Guardians of the Galaxy 1"?

However, just because he was destroyed at the end of "Guardians of the Galaxy 1" and regrown to Baby Groot doesn't mean he has no recollection of what happened. Cinema Blend points out that Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Baby Groot remembers everything.

Furthermore, Feige also noted that Baby Groot may not be the original Groot from the first movie. He told the fan that Baby Groot isn't a son either but a rather "complicated" arrangement and situation that arose from Groot being almost destroyed.

Diesel comes back in the "Guardians of the Galaxy 2" sequel movie along with the original cast members. He is joined alongside Christ Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Bradley Cooper voicing Rocket Raccoon and Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet. The movie is slated to be released in the UK on April 28, 2017 and in the US on May 5, 2017.
