The news of "Toy Story 4" had shocked many people who believed that the third movie of the franchise was its assumed ending. Pixar director Andrew Stanton revealed that there will be more movies including the upcoming "Toy Story 4" for Pixar to continue it.

"Toy Story 4" to Continue Pixar Franchise

Those who have watched "Toy Story 3" have seen Andy part with his toys including Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear, two of the most well-known characters of the Pixar franchise. While many assumed that Andy's growing up and going to college meant the end of the stories of the toys, Pixar has more plans for the franchise.

In an interview with Yahoo, Stanton revealed that "Toy Story 4" is in the works albeit a little bit delayed because they want to get the story right. While many are questioning the idea of a fourth movie, it seemed Pixar had every intention to add more movies to the "Toy Story" franchise.

Pixar's Sequels Not Always Timed for Specific Due Dates

Cinema Blend points out that Pixar doesn't always give in to the pressure of producing sequels for their movies no matter how well it did in theaters. The original "Toy Story" movie debuted in 1995 and it wasn't until 4 years later in 1999 that Pixar released its sequel. "Toy Story 3" came out after more than a decade in 2010 and there is enough reason to believe that "Toy Story 4" will take time to create.

According to the outlet, Pixar has not announced "Toy Story 4" in the production companies planned movies in the next 3 years. The fourth movie may be slated to be released in 2019 to make way for "The Incredibles 2," another long awaited sequel of the movie that was first released in 2004.
