"Dragon Ball Super" Episode 66  continues the conflict between the heroes Goku and Vegeta and the powerful Zamasu, who is now in his fused with Goku Black.

Zamasu continually shows his superiority, easily deflecting one of Goku's Kamehamehas, even in a seemingly-deteriorating state as a result of his fusion. Acknowledging the immense power that the opponent has, Goku offers Vegeta to use the Potara Earrings for fusion, so they could turn into Vegetto.

Now, in the original "Dragon Ball Z", during the Buu Saga, Goku and Vegeta were hesitant to use the Potara Earings against their fight with Majin Buu. This is because they were told that once they become as one, they will stay as such forever.

Despite the serious consequence, as Anime News Network recalls, the Saiyans still used the earrings for the first time to become the powerful Vegetto. The fusion did end, though, when he was absorbed by Buu during the battle, thus separating Goku and Vegeta.

This time, the case is different. In "Dragon Ball Super" episode, Gowasu, Zamasu's former master, explained that the permanent fusion when using the earrings only affects the Kais and that anyone else who uses it will stay fused for only an hour. Consequences now out of the window, the two wear the earrings to give way for one of the series' strongest fighters.

As for the fight itself, Vegetto certainly showed his power. While his original outing was amazing in itself, with the introduction of the aptly-named Super Saiyan Blue, fans are eager to witness the improvement in his power levels. Starting off by punching Zamasu while delivering a monologue, he then proceeds in giving him what seems to be the beating of his life. And just when things are looking good, after delivering a devastating Final Kamehameha, the unthinkable (and somehow expected) happens: Goku and Vegeta break the fusion. Turns out, not only does the Potara Fusion now have a time limit, it also has an energy limit. This part, as IGN puts it, made the character's arrival and exit quite hollow and executed poorly.

This shifts the focus to the other Saiyan in the house, Trunks. Working on the themes of morality, survival and hope, the survivors are seen believing that he can save them. Facing the fact that he is willing to die just to save these people, he channels all the people's energy to him, reminiscent of Goku's Spirit Bomb. The energy forms around his sword, giving it a light-blue blade, which he uses to cut Zamasu in half. "Dragon Ball Super" show ends with a cliffhanger, not knowing if the attack ends the conflict for good.
