Part of every Pokémon player's checklist is to "catch 'em all", and that includes the legendary Pokémon.  With the arrival of Pokémon Sun and Moon, there are new legendaries for the players catch and battle with.

Starting off the list are the Generation 7 mascots, Solgaleo and Lunala, which are the easiest to encounter. According to News Everyday, after becoming the Alola Pokémon Champion, the player must visit the Altar of the Sunne (or Moone) on Poni Island. The time the altar will be accessible depends on the version being played, with Pokémon Sun during night time, and daytime on Pokémon Moon.

Once there, enter the portal and proceed to the Lake of Sunne (or Moone) to find a platform. After working all the way to the top, a cutscene will play, and the player will be rewarded with a Cosmog.

This Pokémon evolves to Cosmoem starting level 43, and then to either Solgaleo or Lunala (depending on the version played) starting Level 53. This is the first Pokémon to ever evolve into a legendary Pokémon since Gen 1.

Next on the list are the Guardian Deities, which serve as the guardians of their respective islands, and requires the player to become the Pokémon Champion in order to face them. Once that is cleared, the player has to visit the ruins in each of the four main islands and touch their statue.

For Melemele Island, Tapu Koko is found on the Ruins of Conflict. Akala Island is the home of Tapu Lele, found on the Ruins of Life (a Machamp Pokeride is needed for this one). The Ruins of Abundance, where Tapu Bulu is found, can be located on the Haina Desert in Ula'ula Island by following a following this pattern: up, right, up, right, left, down, up. Lastly, Poni Island's guardian Tapu Fini is housed in the Ruins of Hope, which could be accessed through a Machamp Pokeride.

As for Zygarde, who was first seen in Generation 6's X and Y, player will be given the chance to collect Z-cells and Z-cores through a Z-cube obtained once Dexio and Sina is encountered in the game. When the player has a specific number of Z-cells, a trailer on Route 16 can use those cells to gain access to one of Zygarde's three forms: 10 Z-cells opens up the Zygarde 10 percent Forme, 50 Z-cells for the 50 percent Forme and 100 Z-cells for the Perfect Forme. The Z-cores, on the other hand, gives the Pokémon access to several strong techniques.

The Ultra Beasts, new creatures introduced in this generation, can also be captured after the main story is finished. Once the player meets up with the International Police, they will be given a mission to take on the said creatures, along with 10 Beast Balls to capture them. These beasts are to be encountered in order: UB-01 (Symbiont) at Vera Mountain or Diglett Cave; UB-02 (Beauty for Moon and Absorption for Sun) at the Verdant Cave; UB-03 (Lightning) at Lush Jungle and Memorial Hall; UB-04 (Blaster for Moon and Kartana for Sun) at Malie Garden and Haina Desert; and UB-05 (Glutton) in Resolution Cave.

Once the player captures all the Ultra Beasts, Looker will mention that another beast is seen over Melemele Island. This is actually the Necrozma, a level 75 Psychic type Pokémon, which can be a little tricky to find. According to Tech Times, the player must make way to Ten Carat Hill, and proceed to Farthest Hallow. Once there, the player has to keep running around the tall grass until the legendary Pokémon appears.

Magearna, the Steel/Fairy Pokémon introduced in the X and Y anime, will be released via a QR code that has to be scanned from the Pokemon.com site. The player would still be required to finish the main story, though, before obtaining this legendary Pokémon. The QR code is set to come out on December 5.

Lastly, Marshadow, a Pokémon only revealed through data mining, is not available in the game at the moment. It is possible, like Magearna, that it will be released via an event in the future.
