Liam Neeson may possess a particular set of skills in acting but being Santa Claus seems to be not one of them.

The Taken film Irish star took part in a comedy skit for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert wherein he auditioned for the role of Santa Claus in a mall. And the results are quite terrifying yet funny at the same time, according to Inquisitr.

Channeling his famous character, Bryan Mills, from the popular Taken film series, his take on the Christmas figure is relatively darker than most. Adding a menacing vibe to the Jolly Old Saint Nick carol definitely made for an uncomfortable experience.

"I see you when you're sleeping. I know when you're awake," Liam Neeson growls, proving much more sinister than the carol intended.

He then tried doing a 'jolly' version of the song and it genuinely looked like he plans to murder listeners in their sleep. But he insisted that he was simply trying to understand Santa Claus's character.

"He's detailed, he's single-minded, he's an eye in the sky bringing swift judgment," he insisted as reported by Independent UK.

He even had a comment to the famous Christmas novelty song 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer' that he will look for him, he will find him, and he will kill him, causing an uproar of laughter among the live audience.

Throughout the two-minute Santa Claus audition, the Taken film actor donned the archetypical Santa red suit and used a red stocking as a cap. Additionally, he was clean shaven over the course of the video, which could have contributed to his unapproachable and sinister aura.

Fans considered this viral video as a wonderful Christmas gift from the beloved actor. He also confirmed that there will be no Taken 4 movie in the making.
