AMD Radeon RX 490 graphics card is expected to become a reality very soon. This expectation is based on the recent reports popping on internet in regards with AMD's upcoming Vega 10 and Polaris 12 GPUs which has already received RRA certification.

South Korea's National Radio Research Agency (RRA) Certification is nothing but a regulatory body that approves any silicon-based electronic product before it can be pushed out into the consumer market.

According to WCCFTech, it is reported that alongside the flagship Radeon RX 490, the giant chipmaker will also introduce more affordable cards in the Radeon RX 400 series. As mentioned in the report, National Radio Research Agency (RRA) has certified two sets of graphics cards from AMD and identified to belong with the Vega 10 and Polaris 12 chip architectures.

It is also reported that for Polaris 12 chip architecture, the cards will be of the mid-range RX 460 and 470, and are expected to hit the market in the early months of 2017.

The report stated that "The certification also marks the final stages of the design of a particular GPU (no changes can be made after this certification is received)." Also, the report added "We can safely expect at least one of these to power the upcoming RX 490 flagship (or whatever it ends up being called)."

It is the RRA certification which is said to be the last phase before commercial debut of any silicon-based electronics and the it is reported that the leaked Radeon RX 490 likely to come out in the immediate month or even in coming weeks.

AMD Radeon RX 490 is expected to come with the below mentioned specs. It was seen in the previous leaks and AMD's own documents.

  1. It will target the 4K resolution and be the go-to graphics card for VR,
