Prince George and Princess Charlotte were expected to be the centre of attention on Tuesday when they attend the Royal family's annual Christmas lunch at the Buckingham Palace. The event was hosted by the Queen, is the Royal family's traditional start to Christmas before Her Majesty heads to Sandringham for her routine winter break.

There were dozens of members of the extended Royal family in attendance, most of whom do not get an invitation to Sandringham gather each other for the family get-together. Zara Tindall, British Equestrian kept her five-month baby bump under wraps in a silver dress while husband Mike Tindall drove them into the palace. Princess Anne and husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence followed moments later.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte arrived in a Range Rover car driven by the Duke of Cambridge Prince William, with Prince Harry in the passenger seat and the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton in the back with her children. They were closely followed by the Prince of Wales, Charles and the Dutchess of Cornwall, Camila. They waved to tourists who were delighted to see them at the unexpected chance to see so many members of the Royal family.

As scheduled, Prince George and Princess Charlotte will not be seen by the Queen on Christmas day, as they are expected to stay with their parents at the Berkshire home of Duchess' parents Carole and Michale Middleton. Prince Harry as revealed will be at Sandringham, having waved off his girlfriend Meghan Markle at the Heathrow Airport on Sunday, together with his father the Prince of Wales and stepmother the Duchess of Cornwall. Princesses Beatrice and Eugiene arrived separately for the Royal lunch, where they were expected to be joined by their father the Duke of York, Prince Andrew.
