Tesla, an American automotive giant had an amazing 2016 with many developments. The company headed closer to fully autonomous cars with Autopilot 2.0, experiments on Solar Roof tiles and the construction of largest production facility, Tesla Gigafactory are some of its major projects in 2016.

The upcoming year 2017 is expected to be more amazing than the previous one for Tesla, as the CEO Elon Musk's plans listed in his "Master Plan, Part Deux" is expected to be a hit. According to International Business Times, Tesla will boom-in with 5 amazing things in the upcoming year 2017, here is the list.

Enhanced Autopilot: It is reported that Tesla is currently working on an enhanced version of Autopilot. The new development will make its upcoming self-driven cars safer. Addition of speed limits in the software will make the cars safer.

Solar roof availability:  According toWired.com, Tesla and SolarCity joint collaboration in October indicates new innovation in the house roof tiles.  The newly developed Solar Roof tiles will generate electricity from solar energy which will be enough to power a four-bedroom house for a full day.  

The energy will be stored in Tesla's Powerwall 2.0 energy storage system and it is reported the system can store 14 kWh of electricity and put out 7 kWh peak power. Tesla's Solar Roof tiles are expected to arrive very soon, however company has not mentioned any exact timeline yet.

2017 Model 3 launch: 2017 Tesla model 3 was unveiled by the CEO Elon Musk in the month of April this year. The most awaited car was unveiled by Musk with a 215 miles range on single charge and goes from 0-60 miles per hour in fewer than 6 seconds. However, a new report claims that the sedan will run up to 250 miles and it holds a price tag of $35,000.

The car will accommodate five adults comfortably along with a larger cargo capacity. The 17-inch portrait touch-screen, featured in the Model S and X, will be replaced with a new 15-inch landscape touch-screen in the 2017 Model 3. The car will feature an all glass roof and the "Ludicrous Mode", which was featured in both the Model S and Model X was earlier stated by Musk.

Tesla pickup truck: In 2017, the company is expected to come out with an electric pickup truck, expanding its reach over the consumer market. In the "Master Plan, Part Deux" that was unveiled in July, Musk declares the company plans to expand Tesla into the production of differently designed vehicles.

Increase in production: Tesla's new construction of Gigfactory in Nevada in collaboration with Panasonic and other partners will be key factory for the company's production. It is reported that the company plans to produce 500,000 cars per year before 2020. The Gigafactory is expected to start production in 2017 and start operating to its full capacity by 2018.

The "Master Plan, Part Deux"  has other plans which includes Enhanced Supercharger network, company's entry to China, Electric buses and trucks, Model Y crossover all-electric sedan and Ride-sharing features.
