James Corden won't be hosting The Late Late Show segment Carpool Karaoke. He made this big announcement during the CBS portion of the 2017 TCA Press Tour.

Just Jared reports that the 30-year-old Late Late Show host and executive producer of Carpool Karaoke revealed that he is expanding the said segment via Apple Music for a 16-episode series that will stream exclusively on the app.

He also said that the new series will have different hosts for each episode and will also feature non-musical celebrities.

According to ET Online, the very first footage from the series showed several of the unique pairings of those host and their guests, including: John Legend and Alicia Keys (with a cameo by Taraji P. Henson), Will Smith and James Corden himself, Bill Eichner and rock band Metallica, Ariana Grande and Seth MacFarlane, and Blake Shelton and Chelsea Handler.

It is also rumored that British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran, who just announced 2 new singles on Friday, will star in the segment 'at some point this year'.

Executive Producer Eric Pankowski said "We talked about it at the beginning. It was a pretty quick decision because the truth is, what James does is so special and singular and unique, that it was silly to try and replicate that and duplicate that."

James Corden reassures that because Carpool Karaoke is now a full-fledged show, it will still remain a crucial part of The Late Late Show's DNA. It is also entirely possible for guest such as Grande also to appear in a Carpool Karaoke segment with Corden on the late-night show.

James also maintained that they are still going to do it [Carpool Karaoke] in the show and that this just became a wonderful platform to see the guests and hosts in such an intimate environment.
