"Star Wars Episode 8" is still almost 11 months away from the date of its actual release, however, the internet is flooded with speculations about what will happen after it. A new report indicates that this may not be the last "Star Wars" trilogy that the fans would get to see.

After "Star Wars Episode 8" release in December 2017, the release of the last film in the trilogy, "Star Wars Episode 9" is planned for December 2019. For the fans who are eager to know whether there will be another trilogy in the future, a Reddit user has hinted that George Lucas initially planned more "Star Wars" episodes.

That is, there may be another trilogy in the offing, however, none of this has been confirmed. The "Star Wars" creator, Lucas, initially planned 12 films, out of which the plot for the first 9 were planned as trilogy.

That is, the episode from 9 to 12 were left blank. But it confirms that they were very much there at the first place. Therefore, it is quite possible that the fourth trilogy may be planned in the future that may extend up to 2025.

Meanwhile, the franchise is also busy making standalone films, indicating that they may decide to stick more to independent films than have another trilogy. This could especially be the case after the huge success of "Rouge One: A Star Wars Film," which is standalone film regarded as a filler between "Star Wars" episodes 3 and 4.

Meanwhile, The Week claims that the fourth "Star Wars" trilogy may focus completely on Darth Vader and his journey under Emperor Palpatine. An insider told the publication that Darth Vader would rise from the ashes in the fourth trilogy and that his character is "too powerful" to disappear completely from the franchise.

It is also speculated that the fourth trilogy may also focus on young Han Solo and Lando, who will end up joining the Imperial army.
