Microsoft Confirmed That There Will Be A Game Mode For Windows 10

Microsoft has decided that it will be a monumental year for them in the world of gaming. They're goal for this year is to make the Windows 10 the best Windows ever for gaming. And to achieve this, Microsoft confirmed that the y will release a new feature called "Gaming Mode" which will bring optimization to the gaming experience of Windows 10 users.   

It has been rumored before that Microsoft was indeed cooking this new feature. Traces of the testing were found by a twitter user @h0x0r in the form of "gamemode.dll" in the latest developer build of Windows 10 last December 28. The perfected game mode will be released in one of the updates in the future. This is one of the series of efforts put by Microsoft to enhance gaming on Windows 10.

There are many rumors on how this mode would be implemented but no method is still confirmed by Microsoft. \According to The Verge, the Gaming Mode will essentially allow the PC to act like a console, wherein all the background tasks that are not being used by the game will be stopped and the PC resources that are used in these tasks are allocated in running the game.

"This is a big update for Windows; we're looking forward to Insiders getting their hands on this new feature for further testing, and we'll have much more to share on what it is and how it works soon, so stayed tuned." this is what Mike Ybarra, the Head of Platform Engineering for Xbox said  in his latest Xbox Wire post.

If you cannot wait for the final version of this mode to be available in the update and you want to test the feature for yourself MS Power User posted a screenshot on how to enable the game mode to your Windows 10. If you updated your Windows 10 to 15007 build, you can activate Game Mode by hitting Win + G. You will need to select the Game Mode option to manually enable it.
