The Vikings are ready to wage war as the latest episode promo shows the Viking Army all set to take over Northumbria to take their revenge on King Ecbert. True to the episode title "Revenge", Ragnar's sons unite to take down their common enemy in Episode 18 of the History show.

True to speculation at the beginning of the season, the iconic character Ragnar Lothbrok played by Australian Actor Travis Fimmel met his end and his brood will take up the cudgels of his legacy but in order to do so, they must overcome their differences first in order to properly avenge their patriarch.

According to a recap for episode 17 posted by Forbes, the brothers called a cease to their bickering when Ivar and Ubbe back down on their plan to kill Lagertha for killing their mother once their brother Bjorn stepped in, but more conflict threatens the surface as Bjorn's partner Torvi is opposed to idea of Bjorn joining forces with his brothers. On the other hand, Bjorn courts even more conflict within the family as he sparks an affair with his mother's lover, the shieldmaiden Astrid.

While Ragnar may already be dead, he plays heavily into the plans of his sons. According to series creator MIchael Hirst, he still lives in the minds of his sons and has a heavy influence on them.

"He's still living in the minds of his sons. And it's behind the build-up of the great army, which I have to tell you, has got such an amazing payoff in episodes 19 and 20. It's just astonishing," he said to Entertainment Weekly.

This much is evident in the latest promo for episode 18 entitled "Revenge." Bjorn is seen heading a meeting with his brothers and his lieutenants and asserting his authority as the leader of the Viking army. Ivar seems resentful of the idea mainly because of Lagertha.

"I will establish the battle plan and I will give the orders, but I am the leader of this group," he tells his brothers, to which Ivar responds with a sarcastic smirk.

The video also shows the Viking Army storming Northcumbria to wage one of the biggest battles on their enemies.

The promo also gave a heads up for fans to watch out for a cameo from Toronto Blue Jay Josh Donaldson as Hoskuld, the Viking Warrior, reported Sports Net Canada.

According to Donaldson on the video posted by the History Channel twitter account, its something that he's always wanted to do. He looked excited on set and even traded hugs with Alaxander Ludwig, who plays Bjorn Ironside in the series.
