"The Arrangement" TV series coming to E! Entertainment this 2017 is said to be inspired by the marriage of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. The show's creators beg to differ. Instead, the show wants to show the realities of marriage arrangements amid the secrets of fame and fortune.

"The Arrangement" TV series story is eerily similar to the couple's romance

The channel's second scripted show revolves around a rising starlet, Megan Morrison (Christine Evangelista). She auditions for a role to star in a film with Hollywood heartthrob, Kyle West (Josh Henderson). She gets the role and Kyle's attention. After a series of dates, the male actor presents Megan with a $10 million marriage arrangement.

When E! first announced its new show, many fans expressed their opinions on Twitter. Most of them compared "The Arrangement" TV series to the story of former real-life couple Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Vanity Fair had published an exposé on Cruise's journey to find himself a girlfriend in 2012.

The publication claimed that Cruise didn't stay long with his former lovers because of Scientology. The new show, "The Arrangement", actually reveals that Kyle West is also part of a mysterious and spiritual organization that has something to do with his proposal to Megan.

Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise have nothing to do with "The Arrangement"

Entertainment magazines were quick to point out the similarities. Holmes was a budding actress after her big break in "Dawson's Creek" and Cruise was already a well-known movie heartthrob. E! channel, however, gave an official statement about "The Arrangement" TV series, saying that Kyle West was not inspired by any one real-life person.

The show's creator, Jonathan Abrahams, told Buzzfeed News that the show was not based on Holmes-Cruise story. He said he had expected many people to draw comparisons, but that all the assumptions were not true.

The character of Kyle belongs to the Institute of the Higher Mind, but it is not a religious organization. It is a self-help society because, according to the creators, self-betterment was an issue that broke many marriages. The organization, therefore, will play a huge part in Megan and Kyle's relationship. "The Arrangement" TV series air date will be on March 1, 2017.
