Why Gamers Are Going Crazy for the 'Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare' Update

The Call of Duty franchise has always been the game that shooter-based game addicts want to play. With Infinite Warfare getting such negative reviews, its loyal fans might forsake the franchise for good. Although the franchise has already seen lessened player counts over the past years, it's a no brainer that Infinite Warfare has taken the crown as the most-hated Call of Duty instalment to this date.

Call of Duty 2017 was announced at the start of this year. According to an article on Gaming Bolt, it has yet been announced where or when in time the next instalment of the franchise will be set. However, some avid fans are already giving predictions on the game setting and on some of its prospected gameplay experiences. Some fans are even saying that this next instalment might be set in the infamous Vietnam War.

According to an article on Gaming Intel, a previous Call of Duty game that was in development was supposed to be set in Vietnam, but it was apparently put on hold. News has been circulating that this newly announced instalment is the continuation of the said Vietnam War themed instalment. It seems that this theory might actually be given some light as the developers of the discontinued game, Sledgehammer Games, was heard to be hiring VFX artists. The latest Call of Duty games that have been released through the years have seen a more futuristic and mechanized setting. Being set in the past might be a change that Call of Duty fanboys are going to love.

Although some fans might actually prefer a more futuristic setting, there might actually be a chance that the Call of Duty games are actually going back in time. This might correlate to its other FPS counterpart, the Battlefield franchise, going back in time to World War 1 with its recent instalment, Battlefield 1. With Battlefield 1 being a great hit to players that love the more historic feel in games, it's not far-fetched to assume that Call of Duty is going in that direction as well.

Until the developers shed more light on the details of the game, fanboys are left on the edge of their seats hoping for something that will alleviate their disappointment in Infinite Warfare. Will Activision give the gamers their savior? Or will it add as another disappointment to the franchise? Gamers will have to wait until November this year to get these questions answered.
