Galaxy S8 Updates: S8 Won't Come With S-Pen, S8 Stylus Might Kill Note Productline

There is a rumor that Samsung's newest flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S8, will come with S-Pen Stylus. S-Pen Stylus are made for Galaxy Note products for improved performance on tasks that needs sketching or writing. As brilliant as it may appear for the customer, it is really a bad idea. Wanna know why?

The first is the effect of this move to the Galaxy Note sales. You know, Samsung Galaxy and Samsung Note products are different. Samsung Galaxy products focuses on the "mobility" side of things. It is relatively smaller than the Galaxy Note and is easier to use while on the run. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note is usually useful on pen computing. It has extra software features towards performance improvement while using the S-Pen stylus, that is why the pen is essential for the note.

According to Forbes, if Samsung Galaxy S8 would house an S-Pen, then it can replicate what you can do with Samsung Note. And what would happen to the Samsung Note product line? No one will buy them anymore, as they can just buy the Galaxy product line. That's not something Samsung would do with one of its major products.

The second thing to consider is the price of the two products. Samsung Galaxy Note devices is more expensive than the Galaxy devices because of the Stylus. If Samsung Galaxy S8 will come with the Stylus, it will be more expensive. The merging of this two product lines might be possible by then. What would Samsung get from merging this two products? Drop of sales, as customers will have limited options based on price and might search for a cheaper phone alternative.

And lastly, if there will be Stylus on board, it means something from the basic phone operation is needed to remove. And based on the leaked case which you can found here, the most likely thing to be removed to fit the stylus somewhere is the USB port on the Galaxy S8, which will be impossible because of its reliance on it for charging and data transfers.

It is still too early to make a final image for the Samsung Galaxy S8. But S8 with a flashy stylus on board will not going to be its final image.
