Apple might have introduced a host of important upgrades on its current Apple Watch Series 2 but every device has room for improvement. This is the reason why the tech world is eagerly awaiting the launch of the Cupertino-based tech giant's next-generation smartwatch, the Apple Watch 3.

Apple has released the Apple Watch Series 2 in September 2016 along with its current iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The smartwatch device adds in a significantly brighter display, greater water-resistance, built-in GPS and a powerful processor compared to its predecessor. Interestingly, the latest speculation has tipped that the company to launch its next-generation smartwatch during September 2017 along with its highly-anticipated 10th anniversary iPhone model dubbed as iPhone X.

The new wearable from the Cupertino-based tech firm is rumored to have an OLED display panel on top of a 1.85-inch screen that can be slightly larger than the previous wearable. The Apple Watch 3 is said to run on Watch OS 4.0 with a 3D touch display.

According to The Country Caller, Apple Watch 3 is expected to introduce a circular dial on it next Apple Watch. Also, there are rumors regarding the introduction of a FaceTime camera on the upcoming Apple Watch 3. This feature will allow users to make video calls without having to touch their compatible iPhone.

According to the Mac World, Apple might be allowing for a new multi-function band. Apple has recently filed an interesting patent by the name of "Magnetic Wristband", and details a magnetic wristband for the Apple Watch, which offers additional functionality and the September launch date gives the company sufficient time to work on this piece of technology.

However, the upcoming Apple Watch 3, the device is not expected to offer a larger battery compared to its predecessor version, the Apple Watch Series 2. Series 2 requires a daily charge which is a spectacular shame, considering what rival smartwatch devices are capable of.

Same as Apple Watch series, 2, the upcoming wearable from Apple is expected to feature in Hermes, Nike+ and Ceramic variants to be alternative options for buyers. The new offering from Apple will be a much more dedicated fitness tracker wearable, offering the functionality of quick calling and voice messaging once it is synced with an iPhone.

Changes or no changes, Apple fans are eagerly waiting for the Apple Watch 3 launch. However, there has been no official confirmation, but it looks like that Apple may break its yearly upgrade cycle in 2017.
