BMW X7 is the company's flagship SUV model and has seen exponential growth over the past few years. The company has been recently seen testing its BMW X7 2018 model. The photos of the new prototype vehicle have been spied of its undergoing testing in Sweden.

The footprint of the vehicle is significantly larger than its younger brother BMW X5 which is currently the biggest SUV from the company. The spied photos can't reveal many details about the inside of the vehicle but looking at the exterior which is wrapped under heavy camouflage, it is seen that the front grills are large and may taper up inside of down just like that on the X2 concept, as reported by Motor Trend. Though the body is wrapped, the bumper can be seen housing the dual exhaust pipes.

The new X7 will be the biggest ever SUV produced by the German automaker and will be manufactured at Spartanburg plant in North America. The BMW X7 is built on a new CLAR platform. Powering the vehicle is a turbo charged 6 and 8 cylinder engines since the X7 is expected to come in two variants. The car is expected to come in both gas and diesel variants. Surprisingly, the SUV might also come with a hybrid option. BMW X7 hybrid will come with iPerformance which coulde be similar to BMW 740E packing a two liter BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine.

The BMW X7 flagship was officially teased in 2016 in a strategic statement from the brand itself, reports Auto Express. The SUV will have a luxurious cabin inspired from the BMW 7 Series and will be equipped with a sportier set of wheels. The SUV also gets long roof rails, sunroof and electronic mirrors (ORVMs) with integrated signal turn lights. While the prototype model uses the regular halogen headlamps, the production model will come with LED headlamps with daytime running LED lights.

Mercedes-Benz GLS, Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 will rival the upcoming BMW X7. The car is expected to be launched in 2018 with a suggested price of $70,000.
