Mark Hamill, the Luke Skywalker actor, has expressed his relief as the producer unveils the anticipated title of the forthcoming series since he felt like living in paranoia to accidentally leak the title. Hamill has known the episode VIII title since last year.

Lucasfilm and Disney have finally revealed the title of Star Wars VIII. Rian Johnson's next installment movie of Star Wars Saga will be "Star Wars: The Last Jedi", as reported by The Guardian

The sequel will continue the journey of a mysterious yet powerful Force-sensitive Rey (Daisy Ridley), the runaway stormtrooper Finn (John Boyega), and the resistance pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac). Once the title is finally revealed, discussions and speculations quickly arise regarding who the last Jedi probably is, how the story is going to go, and how it might be the end of Skywalker saga. However, the discussion about who might be "the last Jedi" has been heating up, as per CNET. A lot of fans have guessed that "the last Jedi" is none other than Luke Skywalker himself.

This theory is supported by "The Force Awakens" opening crawl that stated: Luke Skywalker has vanished. In his absence, the sinister First Order has risen from ashes of The Empire and will not rest until Skywalker, the last Jedi, has been destroyed.  So, if Luke Skywalker is indeed "the last Jedi", then Star Wars Episode VII will emphasize his journey and return.

There is another speculation that says Rey might more likely be the last Jedi. The protagonist somehow has a link to the Force and origin story like the previous protagonists, Luke and Anakin Skywalker. Rey, Luke, and Anakin live in a desolated planet filled with sand, and she, like Luke, longs to know the truth about her parents.

In the end of "The Force Awakens", Rey went to see Luke in his hiding, holding his lightsaber, and it looked like she wanted Luke to train her as a Jedi. If things get real in the next movie, Luke Skywalker might meet his end, leaving Rey as the last Jedi. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" will be released in theater on December, 15. Carrie Fisher has reportedly finished filming her scene before her death back in December.
