After "The Force Awakens" hit the cinemas by storm two years ago, the succeeding Star Wars film, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" has replicated the success of its predecessor. Now there's a talk from the franchise's fans that there's seem to be another trilogy. With Episode 9 slated for 2019, the idea seems possible.

As explained by Reddit user JelicityFones, there are 12 episodes according to George Lucas' notes which can be found here. Episode 1 is likely a prelude of "Clone Wars" while episodes 2-4 is the real Clone Wars trilogy. Episode 5 is the epilogue of the Clone Wars, signifying the end of the first trilogy. Episodes 6-8 is said to be the original trilogy, while episodes 9-12 were left blank. There are two possible situations as to what really is Lucas' planned. The first one is episodes 9-12 will be a sequel trilogy and episode 12 would be the final conclusion of the saga. Or it is also possible that episode 9 would be prelude of the episode 10-12 trilogy.

There are so many positive signs that this trilogy would really happen. It is reported that Disney Chief Bob Iger said in this interview that they have long-term plans for the franchise. It is alsore reported that there is another stand-along Star Wars movie coming this 2020.

The fourth trilogy is rumored to focus on Darth Vader's early years under Emperor Palpatine.

"Darth Vader will rise from the ashes," the insider said, declaring that the character was too powerful to ever disappear from the franchise.

There is no news about episode 8's movie title yet, but it is reported in a forum that Lucasfil filed a trademark for intellectual property for "Star Wars: Forces of Destiny". We woulld likely see the return of Luke Skywalker, Rey, Chewbacca and Kylo ren while benicio del Toro will play a villain role.
