A second story DLC for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided has just been announced. Square Enix and Eidos Montreal say the DLC will launch next month.

The DLC, which is titled "A Criminal Past" is a prequel story set "some time" before the events of Mankind Divided. It tells the story of Adam Jensen's first mission with Task Force 29, reports GameSpot.

The DLC was announced on the game's official page. The description tells a brief synopsis of the DLC pack: Jensen is transferred deep into a hostile, high-security prison for augmented criminals with the mission of tracking down and retrieving complex information from another undercover agent who has gone dark. Adam completing the mission will help the fight against terrorism around the world but with one cost - Jensen will have to face his dark side. This is the second story DLC after "System Rift" DLC - which happened sometime between the Růžička Station bombing and the "Human Restoration Act" in the Mankind Divided universe.

Eidos Montreal promised that "A Criminal Past" will feature many links to the Deus Ex lore besides the new characters and exposés for the franchise. So far, there are no details yet on whether the content will feature new gameplay mechanics or how long the gameplay would be. The "System Rift" DLC took less than three hours to finish. Here's hoping for a longer and a more substantial DLC.

Fansided reports "A Criminal Past" DLC will be available for download on Feb. 23. Owning the $30 Season Pass that was offered when the game was released six months ago will automatically unlock the DLC for you to enjoy. The standalone content will cost $12.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is still available for purchase for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
