Xiaomi Mi 6 Release, Specs & Price: Mi 6 Coming In 3 Variants; Devices To Run On MIUI 9

Xiaomi is expected to unveil array products in 2017. One of the most anticipated among them is the Mi 6, which the Beijing-based handset maker is likely to launch in mid-March this year.

A report from Chinese publication MyDrivers, via GizmoChina, claims at a mid-March launch for the Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone, with the trial production for the device starting sometime in the next month.

Rumors are running out of control online indicating that the Xiaomi Mi6 would be announced at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017. However, Xiaomi has neither confirmed nor denied these spreading rumors.

The Mi 6 is expected to feature a dual-tone design coupled with metal back. It will have home button that doubles as a fingerprint sensor will be placed below the display.

While the regular version of the Mi 6 is said to come with a flat screen LCD display and the 'Pro' variant, on the other hand, would have a dual-edge curved OLED display. There's gossip that the 'Pro' variant could feature a dual-rear camera module.

Qualcomm's 835 SoC processor is likely to fire up the Mi 6. Furthermore, Xiaomi's next generation flagship smartphone could have an OLED panel and 2K display.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 Standard variant is rumored boast 4GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The Xiaomi Mi 6 Premier will be coming with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. In the meantime, Xiaomi Mi 6 Youth would be powered by MediaTek Helio X30, as per GizChina.

The Mi 6 is likely to feature an upgraded 12-megapixel Sony IMX362 sensor and a 4-megapixel front-facing camera.  The Mi 6 will be coming with a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer, and run on MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

The Mi6 Lite will probably be sold for $290 USD (CNY 1,999). While the Standard and Pro version will be having a slightly higher price. The Standard version will likely to offer $360 USD (CNY 2,499) deal, while the Pro version will hit its price to $434 USD (CNY 2,999).
