Check out why it's such a hit and whether it's the phone you're looking for.
Nokia will release a handful of new smart phones in 2017
HMD Global had since acquired Nokia and had begun manufacturing smart phones to compete with big brands like Samsung, Alcatel, and others. Several new phones like the Nokia 6 and BlackBerry DTEK70/Mercury were featured during the CES 2017. Both phones have garnered media attention and speculation.
While the BlackBerry Mercury doesn't have a specific release date yet, Nokia 6 was already made available through JD.com online mall in China last Jan. 19. The company decided to released it there first since the country has an estimated 552 million smart phone users. In fact, the Nokia 6 was sold out in just one minute!
Nokia 6 specs and Nokia Heart leaked details
According to PC Advisor, Nokia 6 costs around $245.38 or £201.66. Nokia 6 specs reveal that it has a 5.5 inch full-HD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The phone also boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor with an equally impressive 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM. It has a 16 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front cam. The batter is only at 3,000 mAh, though, but most of its features are good.
Meanwhile, GFXBench revealed a cheaper alternative to the Nokia 6. According to Tech Radar, this phone will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress next month. The Nokia Heart reportedly also has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. It has a 5.2inch HD display, 12 MP rear cam and 8 MP front cam, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM. It's not as impressive as Nokia 6, so it might be revealed later in the year when the hype has died down.
