Amazon Alexa has sold more than a million units since its launch in 2015. It hasn't always been easy for users, while others are still confused about whether to get an Amazon or Google assistant for their homes.

Will Amazon Alexa beat Google Home?

During the Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Amazon introduced the latest gadget in voice-controlled home assistant technology. The Echo and Dot units connect to the Alexa Voice Service to surf channels, play music, etc. Amazon's new tech is going up against Google's own Google Home, but which one is winning?

According to Greek Wire, Google's CEO isn't worried. Sundar Pichai said that the department had a very strong launch during the later part of 2016 and that Google would invest a lot more this year. Google Home was made available last November, but Amazon Alexa has already been on the market since 2015.

Which is a better JARVIS: Google Home or Amazon Alexa?

Pichai also clarified that voice-control is just one aspect of the Google Home gadgets the company is developing. He further said that users have different ways of interacting with appliances and he envisions Google to be around - nearly everywhere - to assist users whether it's turning on the TV or driving a car.

In other words, it's not far from possible for Tony Stark's JARVIS to become a reality through Google Home. Many users have said that Google's impressive search capabilities give it a huge advantage over other personal assistants. Meanwhile, Amazon Alexa's compatibility with third-party apps makes it easy to use.

Intelligent virtual home assistants will gain dominance in the future

Christian Science Monitor reports that, although Google controls a lot of apps online, it largely relies on Google ads for revenue. With home assistants, people will undoubtedly spend less time on the internet if their assistants can do all the research for them. Of course, this is still in the far future. The publication stresses that visual internet will still be around for a long, long time.

By 2020, the intelligent virtual assistant market will balloon to $3.6 billion in worth, according to Allied Market Research experts. Both Google and Amazon are powerhouses in their respective industries and both monopolize certain online niches. Only time will tell who will have the upper hand in the virtual assistant industry.
