Warner Bros. just recently released a photo of the "Ocean's Eight" cast on a New York city subway. The still confirmed the star-studded cast composed of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling, and Helena Bonham-Carter.

"Ocean's Eight" plot involves a Met Gala heist

The spin-off will star Danny Ocean's (George Clooney) estranged sister Debbie (Sandra Bullock) who is planning a heist at a star-studded Met Gala. The "Ocean's Eight" is not a remake or reboot as others fear. It's an "Ocean's Eleven" spin-off, where Matt Damon will reprise his role as Linus Caldwell, E! News confirms. George Clooney's appearance hasn't been confirmed yet, but it's highly unlikely that he will not have a cameo in the new movie. He'll probably appear during the most unexpected scenes.

With so many stars on the set, the actors themselves have talked about seeing and working with their favorite veteran actors. Kaling once said on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" last year that she felt "unfamous" surrounded by the big name actors on set. She also recounted how she'd been mistaken as Sandra Bullock's assistant during production.

"Ocean's Eight" cast and crew

The "Ocean's Eight" cast of main characters is Sandra Bullock, who is set to play Debbie Ocean, the leader of the ragtag band of merry women about to steal some stuff. Blanchett is cast as Lou, Rihanna as Nine Ball, Paulson as Tammy, Hathaway as Daphne Kluger, Awkwafina as Constance, Kaling as Amita, and Bonham-Carter as Rose.

If the lead cast isn't enough of a draw, the movie has some serious stellar power behind its minor characters and cameos by actors like Katie Holmes, Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Zayn Malik, Olivia Munn, James Corden, Richard Armitage, Hailey Baldwin, Derek Blasberg, Zac Posen, Lauren Santo, Alexander Wang, and Anna Wintour.

"Ocean's Eight" director Gary Ross is well-known for his films "Seabiscuit", "The Hunger Games", "Pleasantville", and "Free State of Jones". Comicbook reports that Ross also wrote the script together with Olivia Mulch. The film will hit the theaters on June 8, 2018. It's still a long way from now so trailers and other photos might come out during the middle or end of this year.
