AMD Zen has been the talk of the town in the recent months. Many are wondering when the new processor will be out and fortunately, AMD confirmed that it is coming out in the first quarter this year with Vega to follow.

AMD hosted its fourth quarter call early this week. In the said event the company confirmed the release date of their new processor and gave updates on their new graphics card.

PC World reported that the anticipated Ryzen will be launched in early March as announced by AMD chief executive Lisa Su. "There will be widespread system availability from day one," Su added.

The Ryzen chips and system integrators will be distributed among channel vendors. Traditional hardware vendors like Dell or HP might need to wait for Ryzen as the company will prioritize boutique PC vendors.

AMD Ryzen is expected to compete with Intel's high-end Core chips like Core i5 and Core i7. The company is determined to join the market and grow their product. In fact, Su teased that they are already planning to develop follow-in named "Zen 2" and "Zen 3."

Per PC GamesN, there are rumors that the Zen processors might come in three tiers similar to Core i7. It will reportedly have SR 7, SR 5 and SR 3, following Core i7, i5 and i3's structure.

The top SR (Summit Ridge) tier with eight-core, 16-thread CPU is expected to be around $500. A slower octo-core is available at around $350.

Too much for the processor, AMD will also be launching new graphics card. PC Gamer reported that Vega GPU is set to follow the launching of Ryzen. The new GPU that could outperform Nvidia's top of the line GTX 1080 is set to hit the market in the second quarter of 2017, probably June.
