With the highly anticipated releases for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and rival Apple's iPhone 8, buyers will have some tough choice to make up ahead. Both Samsung and Apple are expected to put their best foot forward and load their 2017 flagship smartphones with the latest feature. Based on persistent rumors however, it seems that the Korean phone might edge out its rival in three specs.

Phone security is becoming a major factor when it comes to buyer decision. This is understandable because smartphones these days are no longer the simple communication tools of the past solely used for call and text. Today's smartphone now perform a variety of functions as wallets, security console for high tech security systems in modern homes and as identity verification by website. With users' sensitive data at stake, both the iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 are expected to arrive armed with state of art security features.

In this regard, many believe that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will have an advantage over its rival the iPhone 8. Fingerprint scanning has now become a standard security feature in high end smartphones as is expected to be a feature in the upcoming models. However, the S8 is expected to go beyond fingerprint verification.

It is expected that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature an iris scanner verification system, Techradar reported. This is highly possible since the recalled Note 7 already had this feature. While the iPhone 8 is rumored to be planning to sport the feature as well, it is not so certain if Apple can move fast enough to adopt the technology in time for the iPhone 8's release.

Another Samsung Galaxy S8 feature that may prove irresistible to buyers is its expected micro SD card support. With this feature, users have the option to increase device storage capacity by up to 2 TB. Sadly, a micro SD card support feature is not expected in the coming iPhone 8 based on previous models.

And lastly, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumored to sport the new desktop mode feature, SamMobile reported. This new mode is said to be similar to Microsoft's Continuum which offers a seamless desktop experience for users using their phones. Sadly, this feature is not expected to be included in the coming iPhone 8 as well.

However, all of these are speculations for now. iPhone 8 may yet pull a surprise over Samsung Galaxy S8 with features yet unrevealed. Stay tuned to MStarsNews for the latest news and updates.
